Musi is an iOS app that allows users to stream from Youtube, build playlists, share with friends, and more. Being one of the top music streaming apps globally means they must keep up-to-date with the latest iOS guidelines. This was my third time updating the interface to match the latest iOS but with this visual update came some exciting new and features from Musi. The introduction of ‘Discovery’ now allows users to browse curated playlists, new releases, and featured videos allowing Musi to directly cater to their core demographic. The end result was a completely reimagined app with the introduction of new features, new user journeys, and a brand new way to enjoy the app with the introduction of dark mode.

A lot of the previous flows were pushing too hard in the wrong direction, introducing journeys that were not familiar to users coming from other music streaming apps. We worked on a more common interface, introducing flows and actions users would understand and recall quicker. Allowing Musi to launch a brand new user experience without a single tooltip, and more importantly with minimal negative user feedback.

Design is fun and all but I also enjoy stand-up comedy, listening to tunes, and experimenting with film photography.
